Enzyme-Catalyzed Transetherification of Alkoxysilanes
We report the first evidence of an enzyme-catalyzed transetherification of model 17 alkoxysilanes. During an extensive enzymatic screening in the search for new biocatalysts 18 for silicon-oxygen bond formation we found that certain enzymes promoted the 19 transetherification of alkoxysilanes when tert-butanol or 1-octanol were used as the 20 reaction solvents. 21

متن کاملMultistep Enzyme Catalyzed Processes 2014
An artificial ‘minipathway’ starting with oxyfunctionalization of readily available limonene to carveol followed by oxidation to the corresponding α,β-unsaturated ketone via an alcohol dehydrogenase, an enoate reductase for the subsequent reduction of the double bond and concluded by a Baeyer-Villiger monooxygenase for the formation of the corresponding lactone is presented. This extension of t...
متن کاملEnzyme-catalyzed activation of anticancer prodrugs.
The rationale fo the development of prodrugs relies upon delivery of higher concentrations of a drug to target cells compared to administration of the drug itself. In the last decades, numerous prodrugs that are enzymatically activated into anti-cancer agents have been developed. This review describes the most important enzymes involved in prodrug activation notably with respect to tissue distr...
متن کاملDirect analysis of enzyme-catalyzed DNA demethylation.
N/O-methylation of DNA can be cytotoxic and mutagenic; therefore, enzymes that reverse DNA methylation are essential for organism survival. Several 2-oxoglutarate-dependent oxygenases and methyltransferases that remove a methyl group from a methylated DNA base have been identified. Studies of their kinetics and search for their inhibitors have been retarded by the lack of an approach to directl...
